Draft — pending legal review

Terms of Use

Last updated 14 September 2026. Describes the current development build; this page will be revised before Hontoni is released.

What Hontoni is

Hontoni is an iPhone app that transcribes live speech, shows a written translation in a language you choose, and turns imported audio or video recordings into text. It is provided by TaoSquare Group Limited. It is not yet available on the App Store; these terms cover the website and the development build.

Accounts, prices and payments

Hontoni has no accounts and no purchases today. Pricing will be announced at launch, and any paid plan will be described in full, with its allowances and renewal terms, before you can buy it.

Using it responsibly

You are responsible for using Hontoni lawfully, including the recording and consent rules that apply where you are and to the people you are with. Do not use it to capture a conversation you are not entitled to record.

Accuracy

Transcription and translation are automatic and can be wrong, incomplete or late, especially with overlapping speakers, noise, names and numbers. Read the result as an aid to understanding, not as a record to rely on for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.

Service and availability

Live features need an internet connection and depend on third-party speech services. Sessions in the development build are limited in length, and features may change or be withdrawn while the app is being built. Hontoni is provided as is, without warranty, to the extent the law allows.

Privacy

How speech, transcripts and this website handle your data is described in the privacy notice.

Governing law and contact

The governing law and dispute terms will be set during legal review before release. Questions about these terms: bam@taosquare.com.
